Migrants with Overseas License
Recently with the COVID-19 pandemic, VicRoads has announced a relief for overseas license holder in terms of getting their license converted to Victorian license. You now have until 29th April 2021 to get your Victorian License.
You must start the following as soon as practicle

Book a License verification appointment at vicroads customer centre or on website and get your license verified.

Practice the Driver Knowledge Test on VicRoads website and sit for the computer based test as soon as practicle. Link to practice https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/licences/your-ls/get-your-ls/lpt

Once you pass the Driver Knowledge Test, you can book your Hazard perception test with VicRoads. You must pass Hazard Perception test to seat the Practical Drive Test. Link to practice hazard test https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/licences/your-ps/get-your-ps/hazard-perception-practice-test

Once you pass the Driver Knowledge Test and Hazard Perception Test, you can book your a Drive Test and go for the Drive test. Link to book https://billing.vicroads.vic.gov.au/bookings
If you are successful in your drive test,

You will be awarded a Full Victorian Driver License if you have held the Overseas Driver License for more then 3 years and are 22 years or over in age.

You will be awarded a P2 (GREEN P) Victorian Driver License if you have held the Overseas Driver License for less than 3 years and are over 21 years of age.
If you fail the Drive Test

You will no longer be able to drive a vehicle in Vicoria with your overseas license.

You will need to get a Victorian Learner's permit if you wish to continue to drive.

You must ensure that you display "L" plates on your vehicle and a Full Driver License holder is seated next to you when you drive.

It is illegal to drive without "L" plates mounted on car with a Learner's permit and Overseas Driver's License in possession.

Rebook the drive test as soon as possible as and when it is available.
Migrant without Overseas License
If you are a person who is coming to Australia on a student or temporary or work or permnent resident visas, and do not hold any overseas driver license, you can not drive any vehicle without a valid learner's permit or a driver license. You must as soon as practicle, obtain the driver license to drive in Victoria.
If you are under 21 years of age, you must complete 120 hours of supervised driving on a logbook.
